The website originated in 2009 when I was appointed Curriculum Adviser for Mathematics in the Overberg Education District in the Western Cape. Before that I was a mathematical teacher at various schools in the Western Cape before becoming principal at Overberg High School in Caledon.

The motivation for setting up the website came from the reality that maths teachers in my district(and also country wide)  had limited exposure to quality resources apart from the textbooks they used in schools. In our district I began to ask teachers to share resources with me which I then uploaded, with their consent,  on the website. As the years went on, I made an intensive study of the internet to find resources that had been published on the net. These resources were then compiled and categorised on the website to give teachers and learners a one stop where they can browse and download items.
